Activity Level 3/8
Duration 3 to 4 days
Distance 65 km – 3 days
95 km – 4 days
Let our dogs take you back of beyond. Relax into the rhythms of our northern lifestyle, sample local food, and enjoy northern lights and gorgeous views. If mushing dogs is your dream, this is a great place to start.
Learn the basics
Get introduced to your team of huskies and build your skills on a three- to four-hour ride around the ranch. Keep an eye out for the family of lynx that lives on the trail. Enjoy an evening dinner and sled dog tales and history with your host.
Experience the North
We’ll start the day with a breakfast of northern berries. You’ll build your skills further today as we head up into the alpine environment overlooking Fish Lake. In the evening, enjoy more fireside tales as we delve deeper into Yukon’s past.
Mush in the alpine tundra*
By now you’ll be ready to tackle more challenging trails as Pierre-Luc takes you into the higher elevations. Expect to spend a minimum of four hours on your sled. Keep and eye out for wildlife as we’ll be climbing up into tundra that is home to caribou and ptarmigan. In the evening we’ll head out to the Takhini hot springs to enjoy a dip.
* Day 3 is not included in our three-day tour package.
We’ve saved one of our favourite trails for the last day. Bring your camera; this is one for the photo album. At the end of the day we’ll head back to town to freshen up and celebrate four days of adventure.
